German couple ‘try to sell baby’ on Ebay

AFP - Monday, May 26

BERLIN (AFP) - - German police said Sunday they have taken a seven month baby away from a couple in Bavaria who are under investigation after putting the child for sale on Internet auction site Ebay.

The baby boy was put on sale on Tuesday at a starting price of one euro (1.58 dollars) and was withdrawn from the site around two and a half hours later, police said. There had been no offers.

The mother said it was meant as a joke, but police failed to see the funny side, putting the baby into care and launching an investigation of both parents for attempted child trafficking, a statement said.

do you see the joke?
i don’t.

Sleepy Tuesday (zzz)

Let’s recap the holidays.

No Work (YAYYY-ness!)

Saturday – town-ed and shopped. Man, things in town these days are getting increasingly expensive. Now I know the reason behind the mad rush for online shopping these days, it’s indeed cheaper (not by a lot though). Who said that there was only price hike in commodities? Clothes are also increasing their prices. Man, where are my 10bucks clothes??

Sunday – was supposed to scale Mount Faber with my family and uncle. But the night before I slept at 4am and was supposed to wake up at 7plus am. How is it possible? I wanted rest desperately! Gave it a miss and nua at home the whole day watching War of In-Laws. Good show!! But I am only halfway through now, sad to say. Working is going to slow down the pace of watching by at least twofolds. L

Monday – Happy Vesak Day! Went to the Tooth Relic Temple with my parents and sister. As far as I can remember, it’s the first Vesak Day that I actually went down to temples. To gain more exposure bah, I would say. As expected, the queue was a major turnoff. Nevertheless, the queue was fast and we ended up going for everything, from bathing of the Buddha, to getting blessings from the monks and queuing up for the vegetarian broth. Weather was scorching hot and totally UNBEARABLE!! Spent the rest of the day eating and eating different small snacks with my family! I probably made up my skipped lunch during work by eating continuously during weekends. At this rate, I will get fatter.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
